About Francesca
Before she was empowering business leaders to reframe their thinking around diversity and inclusion, Dr Francesca Maclean was one of few women in her engineering classes at the Australian National University.
This isn’t an uncommon story, of course. Nor is entering the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) field to find a lack of representation of people from diverse and minoritised backgrounds.
In the world Francesca is working towards, all teams and organisations will be diverse, and people from diverse backgrounds will thrive, and not just survive in STEM industry - because that is how we will design a world fit for purpose for all people.

Francesca influences on an international stage, sharing a way forward for diversity, inclusion, and equity in STEM.
Through an honest and direct approach, Francesca leverages her experience in industry and academia to show clients and audience members what ‘better’ looks like for an intersectional approach to gender equity, and supports them to find a way forward. She clearly articulates to clients and stakeholders the standards we should be measuring our systems and cultures against, and influences executive leaders to see how equity, diversity and inclusion is good for business and society.
